Sept. 5, 2012

At 6:40 p.m. on Aug. 22, an officer met with a person at the NIU police department regarding a report of a lost wallet. The officer took a report and started an investigation. On Wednesday, the complainant recovered their property.

At 1:36 a.m., an officer at the east side of the New Residence Hall Complex saw a person who appeared to be under the age of 21 and intoxicated. The officer met with the person and the meeting resulted in the person being referred to the Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct for unlawful consumption of alcohol by a minor.

At 7:45 p.m., an officer was sent to Stevenson South regarding a report of theft. The officer arrived on scene and met with the complainant. The officer took a report and started an investigation. The case is open pending further investigation.

Sept. 6, 2012

At 2:17 a.m., officers were sent to the east side of the New Residence Hall Complex regarding a report of battery. Officers arrived on the scene and started an investigation. The case is open pending further investigation.

At 2:48 p.m., an officer was sent to the NIU police department lobby regarding a report of theft. The officer met with the complainant and took a report. The case is open pending further investigation.

At 11:17 p.m., an officer was sent to Douglas Hall for a report of harassing phone calls. The officer met with the complainant and started an investigation. The case is closed at the victim’s request.

At 11:52 p.m., officers on foot patrol at the intersection of Greenbrier and Russell roads observed a person in possession of an alcoholic beverage. Officers met with the person and further investigation revealed they were under 21. The person was referred to the Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct for unlawful possession of alcohol by a minor.

Sept. 7, 2012

At 12:01 a.m., an officer on foot patrol at the 900 block of Greenbrier Road saw a person who appeared to be under 21 and in possession of alcohol. The officer met with the individual and the meeting resulted in the person being referred to the Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct.

At 12:15 a.m., officers on foot patrol at the 1000 block of Hillcrest Drive saw a person who appeared to be under 21 and in possession of alcohol. Officers met with the person and the meeting resulted in the person being referred to the Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct for unlawful possession of alcohol by a minor, possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia.

At 1:20 a.m., officers on foot patrol at the 900 block of North Annie Glidden Road saw a person who appeared to be under the age of 21 and in possession of alcohol. Officers met with the person and the meeting resulted in the person being referred to the Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct for unlawful possession of alcohol by a minor.

At 3 a.m., an officer on patrol at the 1100 block of Varsity Boulevard saw a person who appeared to be under 21 and in possession of alcohol. The officer met with the person and the meeting resulted in the person being referred to the Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct for unlawful possession of alcohol by a minor.

At 3:13 a.m., an officer was sent to the lobby of Neptune East regarding a report of criminal damage to real property. The officer met with the complainant and took a report. This case is open pending further investigation.

At 11:41 p.m., an officer was sent to the west side of the New Residence Hall Complex regarding a report of cannabis. The officer met with the person in the room in question. The meeting resulted in the person being referred to the Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct for possession of cannabis, possession of drug paraphernalia and unlawful possession of alcohol by a minor.

Sept. 8, 2012

At 1:13 a.m., officers responded to a reported domestic situation at Grant North. Rachel  Regan, 18, of Aurora, was placed under arrest and charged with domestic battery. She was transported to the NIU police department, where she was booked and later transported to the DeKalb County Jail.

At 1:23 a.m., at the exterior of Lincoln Hall, a person was found to have unlawfully consumed alcohol. The person was referred to the Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct.

At 1:30 a.m., Antonio Little, 21, of South Beloit, was asked several times to leave the exterior of the Campus Recreation Center after being denied entry to a social event. Little refused and was placed under arrest. He was charged with criminal trespass to land. He was booked at the NIU police department and released after posting bond.

At 3:37 p.m., Janine Laverdiere, of Cary, was found to have unlawfully consumed alcohol east of Huskie Stadium. She was placed under arrest, booked and released on an individual bond.

At 6:44 p.m., Chelsea Young, 20, of DeKalb, was found unlawfully in possession of alcohol at the west side of the New Residence Hall Complex. She was placed under arrest and sent to the NIU police department, where she was booked. She was later sent to the DeKalb County jail.
