Construction on I-88 to close Annie Glidden exit

By Northern Star Staff

38 miles of I-88 will be under construction in a project which began April 1.

The project aims to extend the life of the tollway by resurfacing 38 miles of road as well as rehabilitating 16 bridges between Illinois Route 56 in North Aurora and Illinois Route 251 in Rochelle, according to an Illinois Tollway press release.

The work will require several tollway ramps to be closed, including the ramp located at Annie Glidden Road.

The Annie Glidden Road ramp will close in late May, and reopen in late June, and will allow tollway repairs to be completed more quickly, according to the press release.

The project is scheduled for completion in late fall.
