Campus blotter for 2/15/12

SUNDAY

At 12:29 a.m., officers encountered a vehicle parked in lot L. Officers found the occupant of the vehicle was in possession of cannabis. The occupant was given a verbal warning for possession of cannabis.

At 1:15 a.m., officers encountered an individual in Douglas Hall’s service drive who was banned from the area. The individual was given a verbal warning for criminal trespass.

At 2:18 a.m., officers made contact with a driver in lot C and found him to be in possession of cannabis. The driver was referred to the Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct for possession of cannabis.

At 3:37 a.m., officers received a report that someone had taken an item of clothing from an individual. Officers located and arrested Michael P. Cordero, 23, of Dolton, for theft. Cordero could not post bond and was taken to DeKalb County Jail.

At 4:30 a.m., officers encountered a suspicious vehicle in lot 15E. Officers found the driver of the vehicle was in possession of alcohol. The driver was referred to the Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct for underage possession of alcohol.

MONDAY

At 12:10 p.m., an office was dispatched to the Accounting Office in the Holmes Student Center regarding a report of counterfeit money. The officer took a report. This case is administratively closed.

At 1:51 p.m., an officer was dispatched to the NIU One Card Office in the Holmes Student Center regarding a report of a possible counterfeit $20 bill. The officer met with a complainant and initiated an investigation. This case pending investigation.

At 10:44 p.m., officers were dispatched to Douglas Hall for a report of a possible battery. Officers met with the complainant, who identified the offender. Officers met with the offender, who was then referred to the Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct.
