Woods was taken to the DeKalb Police Station and later released on bond.

Thursday

  • At 1:06 a.m., DeKalb Police responded to the University Plaza, 900 Crane Drive, for a report of a man threatening staff members. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the victim who stated the man was part of a large group of people who were being loud on multiple floors of the complex. The victim stated University Plaza staff has had multiple problems with the group refusing to leave, disperse or cooperate. The victim said the individual boarded an elevator on the sixth floor of the complex. The victim put his hand over the elevator door to keep it from closing, at which point the individual grabbed the victims hand and pushed it away from the door. The victim told officers he wanted the man arrested for battery. Officers located the man, Christopher M. Baylis, 21, of DeKalb, who stated he was being “disrespected” by staff members and called the staff members racist for continually breaking up parties his friends throw. Baylis was arrested and charged with battery. He was taken to the DeKalb Police Station and later released on bond.
