Peters authorizes 4-day summer work week

By Thomas Verschelde

NIU President John Peters has authorized that the university work week over the summer will be four days, according to a press release.

The four-day work week will begin June 6 and will be implemented for 10 weeks until Aug. 12.

The regular five-day work week will resume on Aug, 15.

During this time university offices will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. with limited exceptions related to essential service functions.

The decision was made to save money in the summer months and to generate resources for the university.
