Fire causes $1,500 in damages

A fire at 1:10 a.m. Thursday caused $1,500 in damage at 627 Lucinda Ave., according to a DeKalb Fire Department press release.

According to the release, the fire units that arrived found burning siding on the front of the structure between the front step and the building.

All occupants had evacuated the building prior to the arrival of the DeKalb Fire Department, according to the release.

According to the release, the cause of the fire was improper use or disposal of smoking materials.

No civilians or firefighters were injured in the fire, according to the release.
