The 2010 NIU Homecoming King and Queen were crowned Saturday.

Crowned King was Elliot Echols, junior sociology major and Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity member.

“I have a great awareness of what’s going on at NIU, I extend all of my resources around campus… I take pride in making my university a better place for all students,” Echols said.

Next to him as Queen was Sunsea Shaw, senior sociology major and Zeta Phi Beta sorority member. Shaw and Echols campaigned together, and are both from Divine Nine organizations.

When asked why she would make a good Homecoming Queen, Shaw said “I am very involved in my sorority, as an athlete and in community service.”
