Thunderstorm watch for DeKalb County until 9 p.m.

DeKalb County is under a thunderstorm watch until 9 p.m.
NIU Meteorologist Gilbert Sebenste said he expects the main portion of the storm to hit the DeKalb area about 6 p.m. with 40-50 mph winds being produced.
Sebenste added there is a possibility of quarter-sized hail to also show up in the mix.
“La Salle County has already received hail and there’s definitely a chance it could show here as well,” Sebenste said.
Sebenste gave advice for those with any outdoor plans this evening.
“Keep an eye on the sky as storms are moving fast,” he said. “And be ready to take cover.”
