SYCAMORE | Two Sycamore men were arrested after allegedly breaking into several vehicles Monday.

At about midnight, Clifford P. Brooks, 20, and Arturo M. Maldonado, 19, were arrested at Evergreen Trailer Park, 955 E. State St., where they allegedly broke into at least six vehicles, said DeKalb County Sheriff Roger Scott.

DeKalb County Sheriff’s deputies were called to the trailer park for a report of suspicious people in the area, where they found Brooks and Maldonado, Scott said.

Police found several vehicles broken into, and items including CDs, loose change and cash had been taken from inside, Scott said.

“We found these two guys in the general vicinity, and were able to track them back to the items that had been taken,” Scott said.

Brooks and Maldonado were both arrested and charged with three counts of burglary to a motor vehicle and unlawful consumption of alcohol by a minor. Both men were taken to DeKalb County Jail pending a bond hearing Wednesday.

Some of the stolen property has been recovered, Scott said.
