Delivery driver robbed at gunpoint early Friday morning

Police arrested a Sycamore man after he reportedly robbed a delivery driver Friday morning.

About 4:15 a.m., the driver was delivering an order in the 800 block of Ridge Drive when he was approached by a man who said he had a gun, according to a DeKalb Police Department news release.

The man then robbed the driver and took the food order, money and a cell phone, according to the release. The driver was not injured in the robbery.

Police identified a suspect, Dwayne A. Cummings, 38, of Sycamore, who was found in the 1000 block of Market Street.

Police recovered the stolen cellphone, money and food, according to the release. Cummings was charged with aggravated battery, a Class 1 felony.

Cummings was taken to DeKalb County Jail pending bond.

DeKalb Police could not be reached for further information Sunday afternoon.
