Skinned lamb found at Fairview Pet Cemetery

By ALAN EDRINN

A skinned lamb was found at the Fairview Pet Cemetery Sunday.

At about 5:52 p.m., a person walking a dog found the skinned lamb east of the pet cemetery plots, 1600 S. First St. The lamb’s skin was found 30 feet from the body, said DeKalb Police Lt. Gary Spangler.

The lamb’s body had not been dug up, and the lamb hadn’t been killed by another animal based on the fact it was skinned, Spangler said.

The person who found the lamb also reported seeing mutilated bodies of cats in the past, but did not report it because they thought it had been done by other animals, Spangler said.

Police do not have any leads in the case, and a person could have bought the animal with intent to skin it, Spangler said. He was unaware of any reports of lambs being stolen, and said it would normally not be reported.
