The advisory task force is collecting ideas from students, staff and family members on the future of Cole Hall.

The task force will present an overall decision to President John Peters before the end of the semester, said Melanie Magara, assistant vice president for Public Affairs.

The group will represent the presidents of shared governance councils from the Student Association, the Faculty Senate, the University Council, Operating Staff Council, the Supportive Staff Council and the president from the Alumni Association.

The group is composed of representatives Peters put together, Magara said.

The task force will help the president sort through all of the messages and ideas received to find a main idea for the use of Cole Hall.

Students can voice their opinions on the decision of Cole Hall through public forums today, Thursday and Friday evening, and privately through e-mail, she said.

Magara said a variety of people already have expressed their ideas on the decision.

“It’s a way that everyone can make sure their message is heard, and it’s a family discussion,” she said. “They can find ways to express themselves to share their feelings.”
