Where to vote in DeKalb

By Stephanie Wise

Early birds can vote as early as 6 a.m. while night owls can choose to vote as any time before 7 p.m. in today’s election.

DeKalb County Clerk Sharon Holmes recommends that students vote early.

“For students, late afternoon and evening, the supper hours, [are the busiest],” Holmes said. “It would be better if they went earlier in the day. They won’t have to wait so long.”

People must vote with their precinct. This means that where one goes to vote is designated by where he or she lives. For information on where one is supposed to go, his or her voter registration card should be consulted.

“The voter registration card has the polling place listed,” Holmes said. “If students live in [the dorms], vote at the recreation center. Other students should call our office at 895-7147 or refer to their voter registration card.”
