Sociology Week offers enlightenment

By Matthew Rainwater

DeKALB | The sociology department is sponsoring its fourth-annual Sociology Week, offering plenty of information about the different fields of sociology.

Organizers set up many events for the week, from lectures and panel discussions to a reception at which interested students can meet the sociology faculty.

“This is an excellent opportunity for students to get a better understanding of jobs regarding sociology,” said Jack King, sociology instructor and one of the organizers of Sociology Week.

Jordan Henderson, senior sociology major and co-president of the Sociology Student Advisory Committee, said that sociology students interested in attending these events will ultimately have a better idea of what they would like to do once they graduate. Students can also explore options regarding what to do within an area of sociology and see what internships are available.
