The Vietnamese Student Association will host its second annual culture night at 7 p.m. Saturday at Anderson Hall. The theme for the night is “Vietnam History Yesterday and Today.”

Tammie Nguyen, president of VSA, said the organization decided to host the event because culture is one of the organization’s pillars.

“We want to promote cultural awareness to NIU students,” she said.

The event will feature several cultural dances and musical selections. There also will be a fashion show, which will feature modern and traditional attire.

Nguyen said there will be free authentic Vietnamese food served at the event.

Additionally, there will be a skit that will portray how Vietnamese college students interact with each other.

“This will show students something new outside of American culture,” Nguyen said.

Nguyen said she urges students to come to Vietnamese Culture Night because the event will be exciting and educational.

“This event will be a lot of fun,” she said. “Students will be able to meet new people and learn new things.”
