DeKalb police are looking for a thief with a sweet tooth.

Between 10 p.m. Sunday and 6 a.m. Monday, someone broke into DeKalb High School, 1515 S. Fourth St. Once inside, the thief or thieves entered the school’s athletics department office where more than $1,000 in cash and a handful of snacks were stolen, said Lt. Jim Kayes of the DeKalb Police Department.

Items stolen included doughnuts, bagels, Pop-Tarts, muffins, candy bars, candy and other assorted sweets.

The snacks were to be sold at the concession stand for a wrestling meet on Monday.

Police do not have any suspects, and it is unknown how many individuals were involved, Kayes said. With school out of session Monday, police could not speak to students for tips, Kayes said.

Police encourage anyone with information to call 748-8400 or Crimestoppers at 895-3272.
