If you’re a fan of MTV’s “Real World” and are sad the season is over, Campus Activities Board has come to your rescue.

CAB Special Events and Speakers is presenting “A Night with Trishelle and Theo” today. Trishelle was on “Real World: Las Vegas,” whereas Theo was on “Real World: Chicago.”

“The Speakers Committee chose Theo and Trishelle based off of surveys received from students, as well as the opinion of the committee,” said Brooke Beyers, CAB Speakers coordinator. “We could have chosen other speakers, but the ‘Real World’ speakers are the most cost effective and still have the name recognition many students want.”

This isn’t the first time CAB has produced a speaker from “Real World.” Last semester, Aneesa, also from “Real World: Chicago,” came to NIU.

“The turnout to Aneesa was about 700 students,” Beyers said. “We expect to have at least that many for Theo and Trishelle.”

The only thing unplanned about the speakers is the topics to be discussed.

“The speakers, in general, will be addressing their experiences on ‘Real World,'” Beyers said. “They may talk about other things, but we aren’t really given a rundown of what they plan to talk about.”

Beyers also thinks the speakers are coming at a good point in the semester.

“I think this will be a great event for NIU,” she said. “They are fun speakers to come listen to for sheer entertainment value, and it will be a great way to relax before finals.”
