LLI to host Revisiting the Vietnam War event series

By Aidan Bengford

Associate History professor and acting director of NIU’s Center for Southeast Asian Studies Eric Jones and the Lifelong Learning Institute of NIU will virtually present “Revisiting the Vietnam War” Thursday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. This event is part of a series.

Global history and Southeast Asian studies experts will explore how the Vietnam War can be viewed through different lenses in this series, specifically through Cold War, foreign policy, and film representation lenses.

“Revisiting the Vietnam War” is not a noncredited month-long series open to the community. The Lifelong Learning Institute of NIU offers courses that are a teaching and learning opportunity, primarily for those 50 or older, in a low-pressure, gradeless environment.

“Revisiting the Vietnam War” runs from 10 a.m to 11 a.m. April 8.  The event continues every following Thursday until May 6th  on April 15, 22, 29, and May 6 at the same time.

Registration costs $25 per person to attend all six study group times. To register for the event, sign up here or email [email protected] for further details. Visit the NIU’s events calendar or contact [email protected] for more information.
