The Sycamore Board of Education is holding a meeting to discuss how the Board and School District 427 can better improve communication with the media.

The Board is conducting a forum with local news media Thursday at 8:30 a.m. at the Administration Building, 245 W. Exchange St., in Sycamore.

The Board’s Public Relations Committee has invited local news media to discuss the best manner in which to report news and information for the Sycamore School District.

According to Robert Hammon, superintendent of the Sycamore School District, the purpose of the meeting is for members of the Sycamore school board and the administration to meet with the local news media so that they can develop the best possible system of communication.

The meeting will help the two groups develop what Hammon said is a “face-to-face kind of relationship.”

Hammon said the purpose of the public relations committee is to help keep communications open with the media and to see how both sides can help.

Those invited to attend include The Kishwaukee Independent, The Daily Chronicle, WLBK, The Midweek, WNIU, TV-8 News, The Northern Star, Q1560 Radio, B95 and WAUR/WSPY.
