Three students and no employees test positive for COVID-19.

DeKALB — NIU announced Thursday that three additional students and no employees have tested positive for the coronavirus, and three students and no employees have recovered, according to the Campus COVID-19 Dashboard. As of Thursday, 25 students and three employees are currently COVID-19 positive.

The dashboard’s cumulative testing statistics show a total of 76 Huskies that have tested positive for COVID-19, and 48 have recovered since the semester began Aug. 23.

Surveillance testing 

NIU administered 1,905 COVID-19 tests during the week of Aug. 30 for surveillance testing. The positivity rate was 0.94%, with 18 recorded positive results, according to surveillance testing data.

Surveillance testing data is updated on the dashboard website every Monday, or on a Tuesday if a holiday falls on a Monday.

What to do if you test positive

Faculty, staff and students are to complete the COVID-19 Checklist if diagnosed with COVID-19, have symptoms of COVID-19 or have been exposed to someone diagnosed with COVID-19.
