DeKALB Illinois gas prices have risen 7.5 cents per gallon in the past week according to Gas Buddy’s daily survey of 4,378 stations in Illinois. The gas prices are 6.9 cents per gallon which is higher than it was in August.

The most expensive gas in the state is $3.99 per gallon, while the cheapest is $2.86 according to Gasbuddy price reports.

“Gas prices have been stuck in somewhat of a limbo and remain near 2021 highs long after Hurricane Ida has dissipated. The damage done to oil production has been left behind and so far has prevented prices from resuming their seasonal decline,” said Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis for GasBuddy.

On Sept. 20, 2020, the average price per gallon in the United States was $2.16, in 2021 it stands at $3.18 per gallon.
