DeKalb County reports 48.34% vaccination rate

DeKALB — The DeKalb County Health Department announced Friday the number of positive COVID-19 cases increased to 12,501 and 50,340 county residents are fully vaccinated, 48.34% of the county population.

Among those who’ve tested positive for the coronavirus, 2,481 are younger than 19, 2,979 are in their 20s, 1,903 are in their 30s, 1,665 are in their 40s, 1,488 are in their 50s, 1,021 are in their 60s, 519 are in their 70s and 445 are 80 or older.

As of Friday, 134 people have died from the coronavirus in the county, according to the DCHD.

Statewide, there are 1.6 million confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 25,590 recorded deaths as of Friday, according to the Illinois Department of Public Health.
