DeKALB— The Chris Young & Famous Friends Tour, originally scheduled to take place at the NIU Convocation Center on Nov. 20, has been canceled as of Nov. 4.

The concert was set to feature well-known country singer-songwriter Chris Young, Nashville country pop singer-songwriter Mitchell Tenpenny and 18-year-old country singer Callista Clark.

This is not the only performance from Young’s Famous Friends tour that has been canceled. Only three of the original eight concerts remain scheduled, according to the Ticketmaster website.

No reason was given as to why the concert was canceled, said Joe King, associate director of institutional communication.

Before the COVID-19 pandemic, Young’s Town Ain’t Big Enough World Tour was set to take place in 2020 but was canceled as to not put any of the band or audience members at risk of COVID-19, according to Country Now.

It is unknown if Young plans to return to DeKalb or reschedule any of the canceled performances.

For individuals who purchased their tickets through Ticketmaster, a refund will be sent to the original method of payment, typically within 30 days, according to the event page.

The Northern Star will update this story when more information becomes available.
