Recent weather warms up NIU

Sunday’s weather was just the beginning of a beautiful week ,according to the National Weather Service.

The high for Sunday was 55 degrees and the sun was out most of the day.

The weather Monday should be pleasant with a high in the 60s. There is a 30 percent chance of rain, with clouds rolling in and out all day. Tuesday through Thursday is supposed to have highs in the mid 50s to 60 degrees, and lows in the 40s. The chances for precipitation this week are low.

NIU students took advantage of the balmy temperatures to enjoy a variety of activities, and most liked the change form the previous cold.

Rick Grunz, junior communications major, enjoyed the weather thoroughly. “If this isn’t football weather, i don’t know what is,” Grunz said.

“It’s nice out today, but it will probably snow out tomorrow,” said Carrie Koons, sophomore communications major.

Jody Arneson, junior marketing major, has mixed feelings about the weather. “It sure is nice out today, but in three days I’ll be in New Orleans and it’s 80 degrees there,” Arneson said.

Grunz expressed his feelings about living in the Chicago area.

“The weather changes too much from day to day,” he said. “I’d like to live somewhere you can depend on the weather more.”
