Weekly horoscopes: Feb. 2 – Feb. 9
Happy Black History Month! The new moon in Aquarius happened Tuesday, bringing us all hope and inspiration to get moving on important projects. If life seems challenging right now, keep your head up. We will get through this together.
Aries (March 21 to April 19)
Work on communication. Life can be rough right now, especially with no planet in a fire sign to keep your subconscious mind motivated, but this doesn’t mean you get to lash out or shut yourself off. Your loved ones and colleagues shouldn’t be treated like that. A little effort with words can go a long way.
Taurus (April 20 to May 20)
Not everything goes your way. As a logical human being, this makes sense to you, but it can be hard to accept it as fact. If something happens this week that doesn’t go as planned, remember that it’s likely not a personal offense to you. More opportunities will present themselves in which you can have control.
Gemini (May 21 to June 20)
Call a family member. You’re probably already family-oriented due to your desire to reach out and touch people — it just happens to be easier to touch those in your familial circle. Even if you talk to your loved ones on a regular basis, someone in your life wants to hear your voice and check in on you. Indulge them.
Cancer (June 21 to July 22)
Reflect on your past. Do you look back and cringe? This is a sign that you’ve grown. Continue this trend of growth however possible; it is always worth it to improve yourself. Not everyone can handle your specific brand of intensity. Tell the naysayers that they don’t know what it’s like to be you, so they don’t get to constrain you.
Leo (July 23 to Aug. 22)
What was the last book you read? If you’re not an avid reader, it might be time to pick up a book (or audiobook) that interests you. Any genre is allowed, so long as you find it meaningful. Literature will help to expand your horizons and open your mind to different ways of thinking. Embrace whatever new philosophies dance in your head.
Virgo (Aug. 23 to Sept. 22)
It’s OK to be disorganized. Often, earth signs will see situations in black and white: Either you’re a failure or a success, et cetera. Your worth is not tied up in your circumstances, and those don’t deserve to be utilized against you. If you have dirty makeup brushes or a backpack full of loose papers right now, you are not a bad person.
Libra (Sept. 23 to Oct. 22)
Reconsider the way you employ empathy. It’s one thing to be cautiously protective of yourself; it’s another thing to be open and receptive to others’ emotions. You might be scared to open up, but when you do, the likelihood of disaster striking is slim. However you grow, know that it’s OK to grow at your own pace.
Scorpio (Oct. 23 to Nov. 21)
Do you feel disconnected from your body? Perhaps you’ve been running on autopilot to conserve emotional energy this past week. That’s perfectly normal. What may help you break out of this pattern is to do something kind for yourself, maybe taking yourself on a date or adding a new element to your morning routine.
Sagittarius (Nov. 22 to Dec. 21)
Reach out. Whether you fit the stereotype of the chatty and outgoing Sagittarius or not, this week may require you to speak up and talk to people when you don’t want to. Independence might suit you, but everyone needs help or someone to talk to from time to time. It’s nothing to be ashamed or scared of.
Capricorn (Dec. 22 to Jan. 19)
Schedule in some “me” time. Three planets are traveling through your sign this week, which may cause you to feel particularly stressed, or even guilty over lack of motivation. Only take on what you can handle, and try your best to find time for self-care. Your mental health doesn’t deserve to be sacrificed for the benefit of work or school.
Aquarius (Jan. 20 to Feb. 18)
Happy birth season! This may be a tough week for you, but know that you have the grit and the gumption to get through it. Something deep in your person is coming to the surface, enhanced by the recent new moon in Aquarius. Don’t run from this newness; instead, try to welcome this once-hidden facet of yourself.
Pisces (Feb. 19 to March 20)
Reconnect to your creativity. Recently, the waters of inspiration may have run dry for you. If so, you’re not alone! One possible solution to jumpstart this side of you is to learn a new topic or hobby. This may inspire your future creative work, or that artistic energy may suddenly fuel you within your new pursuit.
