GSRC to host Cultural Sister Summit
DeKALB – The Cultural Sisterhood Summit will take place on Saturday, Sept. 24 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Barsema Alumni and Visitors Center at 231 N. Annie Glidden Road.
The event is free of charge and will offer free lunch to those who attend. The Gender and Sexuality Resource Center is hosting this experience for all students who identify with womanhood and are ethnically underrepresented at NIU and in society. According to the GSRC, this event is a chance to get socially involved by meeting new people and learning about the various resources NIU has for students on campus.
The Cultural Sisterhood Summit aims to empower women from all backgrounds and educate them on gender identity, femininity and intersectionality. The program hopes to connect individuals who are different from one another, whether that be their racial background or their sexuality. The Cultural Sisterhood Summit focuses on promoting positive interactions between students in an inspiring and empowering space.
Students who have any questions regarding the event can contact Ariel Owens at [email protected] for more information.
