The eleventh-annual “Anchor Splash” fundraiser sponsored by Delta Gamma will take place on Sunday.

“Anchor Splash” will be held in Gabel Hall from 1 to 3 p.m., said Delta Gamma sorority member Dawn Kolodziej. Following will be a lip sync contest from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Duke Ellington Ballroom in the Holmes Student Center.

Winners for the most beautiful eyes contest will also be announced, she added.

Primarily Greek organizations participate, but some independent organizations are participating as well, said Binita Choksi of Delta Gamma.

Former Sigma Sigma Sigma president Stacy Spletzer said she is looking forward to the fundraiser.

“It’s one of the biggest philanthropies,” she said. “We have a lot of fun taking part in it.”

Kolodziej said there will be one overall trophy for the organization with the most points. First place trophies for the swimming contest and the lip sync contest will also be awarded.

Admission to both events is $3 and all funds raised will go to sight conservation and aid to the blind, Choksi said.

Also, funds will be donated to various schools of the blind, American Foundation of the Blind and Special Olympics for the blind and sight impaired.
