Shields, 25, of DeKalb, received one or multiple gunshot wounds Thursday night at 810 Kimberly Drive, which is 0.7 miles from the Campus Life Building and 0.2 miles from the School of Nursing. Shields died after being transported to Kishwaukee Health Systems Hospital, 10 Health Services Drive.
