Top Study Spots on Campus

Top Study Spots on Campus

By Sarah LaLond | October 6, 2018
#AsToldByGingerStudents are sometimes in a desperate search of some good ol’ fashioned peace and quiet. If your roommate’s incessant singing of show tunes is inhibiting your ability to concentrate (or you’re just looking for a good place to get some work done), look no further! Here are my top three study spots on NIU’s campus.1. Neptune Hall - Fireplace LoungeThis is a great study location for a couple of reasons. 1) It’s got a good, vibey atmosphere, especially in the winter when the fireplace is up and running, and 2) it’s right underneath the Neptune dining hall, which means it’s the perfect place to take a food nap. Or… you know, be productive. Whichever.2. Holmes Student Center - Coffee Corner SeatingThere are a lot of good study spots in the Holmes Student Center with runners up being the main lobby seating and the College Grind. The winner however is the seating outside of the Coffee Corner which has coffee AND accessible outlets. What else could you want? (I mean, other than automatic A’s in all of your classes. Can’t hurt to dream, right?)3. Founders Memorial Library - Window SeatingAnywhere you sit in the Founders Memorial Library is going to give you the peace and quiet required for a decent study session. Throw a beautiful view into the mix, and you may even momentarily forget about how heavily you’ve been considering dropping out of school and selling homemade candles to pay rent. Always a plus.
