Dekalb Public Library plays host to cat yoga

By Northern Star Staff

The DeKalb Public Library, 390 Oak St., is bringing “Cat Yoga” back to local feline lovers on Dec. 6 from 6 p.m. to 6:45 p.m.

Led by instructor Angelina McNeela of Find What Moves You, “Cat Yoga” lets participants unwind and strengthen their cores surrounded by furry friends. The Tails Humane Society is providing the cats for the event, all of which are available for adoption.

The themed yoga instruction is rife with cat puns and poses, and those who attend may just fall in love with one of the cats in need of a forever home.

The event is free and open to the public. According to the DeKalb Public Library website, those interested in attending should RSVP on the event’s official Facebook page, as seating is limited.

There are five spaces available for walk-ins. Volunteers from the Tails Humane Society will be providing information on how to adopt a kitty into a safe and loving home.

Participants are encouraged to wear comfortable clothing and bring a yoga mat.

This program is sponsored by the Friends of the DeKalb Public Library.
