DeKalb PD to talk Safe Streets

By Northern Star Staff

DeKALB — City officials are offering residents the opportunity to share their concerns about parking restrictions under the Safe Streets Initiative.

The four-phase plan was introduced in November by DeKalb Police Chief Gene Lowery to improve fire responders visibility in neighborhoods with higher crime rates.

The third and fourth phase of the plan will be introduced by Lowery to the Committee of the Whole during its 5 p.m. meeting Monday.

Lowery will continue discussions with residents at 7 p.m. Thursday in the Police Department Community room, according to an April 13 City of DeKalb press release.

Those who are unable to attend either meeting are encouraged to provide input through a form found on the Safe Streets Initiative website at http://www.cityofdekalb.com/1110/Safe-Streets-Initiative.
