Preparing for a new semester can get hectic by trying to stay true to a New Year’s resolutions or figuring out how to correct mistakes from the previous semester. Here are some tips to prepare for this semester to ensure it is both enjoyable and memorable.

1. Plan ahead

Now is the time to look over syllabi and plan a course of action. Be sure to plan for quizzes, tests or papers as well as finding a balance between social life and academic responsibilities.

2. Manage lifestyle

Being consumed by studying and social activities is unavoidable. It is important to manage a healthy lifestyle to enjoy college.

Taking some time for self-care is completely necessary. Self-care can be defined however a student sees fit.

3. Utilize resources

NIU offers students a variety of resources to make the college experiences easier. Resource centers include a health center and counseling and consultation as well as the Campus Child Care Center for Huskies with children—not to mention, a writing center located in Stevenson Tower B that provides assistance and feedback.
