By Deb Loitz

Walk & Roll for Mobility Committee Member and Director of Community Relations with Northern Rehab Physical Therapy Specialists

The third annual Walk & Roll for Mobility fundraising event for the Voluntary Action Center held Sept. 17 was a great success. Northern Rehab Physical Therapy Specialists and Creative Therapeutics wish to thank the community for supporting our walk along the DeKalb Nature Trail from Creative Therapeutics to Northern Rehab’s Lincoln Highway office in celebration of physical therapy month. We love celebrating everyone’s freedom to be active and enjoy their mobility. All donations collected at this event went directly to the Voluntary Action Center of DeKalb County to help support their active programs aiding our community.

Our appreciation is extended to First National Bank, Hy-Vee, Hearing Help Express, Resource Bank, Voluntary Action Center, the NIUkulele Ensemble, DeKalb Police Department, Kishwaukee Family YMCA, the Grams family, Pamela “Pommy” Macfarlane, and students from the NIU Physical Therapy program.

The Walk & Roll for Mobility Committee includes Lynn Batalden and Mark Mattson with Creative Therapeutics and Ken Olson, Melissa Beck, and Deb Loitz with Northern Rehab Physical Therapy Specialists. We extend our gratitude to all of the community members that walked, rolled, strolled, and rode their bikes at this family-friendly event! Your support made the 3rd annual “Walk & Roll for Mobility” event another huge success. We look forward to next year’s event and hope the community will join us again to celebrate your freedom to “Walk & Roll”.
