Five colors that affect mood

By Darius Parker

Selecting the perfect color to wear takes time and energy. The color of a garment could really influence mood for the day. Whether it be a cardigan, hoodie or jeans, it’s time to bust out the fall fashions so many of us have been waiting to showcase.

Here are five colors that could be worn to help set or change the mood for the day.

Red

Fashions can almost never go wrong in red. To make a statement on new trends, pulling a red item out of the closet could definitely help do so. Red radiates passion and power and makes a statement of strength. Red is bold, and to wear red means it’s time to take charge and stand out.

Black

I’ve noticed black adds boldness and mystery to a look. The color black is able to stand out in fashion because of its ability to smooth a figure and make it look crisp. Black can give off dominance and sultriness. So if there’s a day when your mood could use a boost or a color to represent boldness needs to be added, certainly use black.

Maroon

This color started becoming slightly popular last fall when seen on garments like jackets and tees, but now it is seen everywhere. I feel that the shade brings unique calmness, yet still is appealing to the eye in a way similar to looking at a beautiful flower. If there is a calm and mysterious vibe a student wants to give off, they are on their way to joining the maroon-lovers club as soon as possible.

Blue

Whether it’s cerulean or indigo, blue can add a classic and sophisticated mood to any garment. There are variations of denim jeans, denim shirts or jackets that blue is able to pull a calming mood from. I think popular blues are known to exude a calm and coolness to a look; however for this fall season, use blue to make a clear mood statement.
