Style Section: Rainy Days

By Morgan Carrigan

Living in DeKalb, there is really no surprise when it’s rainy and cold one day and 75 degrees the next. As we prepare for this rainy week, I want to lend a helping hand as you pick out your outfit.

Boots:

My pick is Hunter Boots. The rubber material is perfect for water resistance and the simple look is solid in the fashion world right now. Add leg warmers underneath to keep you warm.

Jacket:

While a cute rainy jacket should be everyone’s go to for rainy days, not everyone has that hanging in their closet. Windbreakers and Northface jackets offer comparable resistance for protection to rain jackets. My tip: Try the trench coat look; it is very in right now and keeps more than just your upper half protected from the weather.

Hat:

Beanies, fedoras and baseball caps will all work. To pull your outfit together try matching smaller items like your hat with your gloves, umbrella and boots.

Comfortable Clothes:

Pair your rainy outfit with a big comfy sweater underneath and leggings to stick in your rain boots, and you have a fool proof, comfy outfit to conquer the day. My suggestion: The bigger the sweater the better. It will keep you warm when you have to take off your rained-on jacket and still be a trendy outfit.
