NIU women’s tennis: Huskies dominate Milwaukee, push record to 5-0

Women’s tennis continues to serve up victory after victory as it pushed its record to 5-0 Thursday.

The Huskies beat the Milwaukee Panthers, 6-1, at the Boylan Tennis Center in Rockford.

NIU opened the day by taking the doubles point with a 3-0 sweep of the trio of doubles matches. The Huskies have taken the doubles point in all five of their matches this season.

No. 1: Nelle Youel and Cristina Alvarez won (7-6, 7-5)

No. 2: Mary Malkin and Evelyn Youel won (6-6, 5-3)

No. 3: Arantza De La Torre and Jennifer Gates won (6-1)

Singles

No. 1: Nelle Youel won (6-2, 6-3)

No. 2: Alvarez won (6-2, 6-4)

No. 3: Malkin won (7-5, 6-4)

No. 4: De La Torre won (6-0, 6-1)

No. 5: Abigail Dekkinga lost (0-6, 6-4, 1-6)

No. 6: Gates won (6-3, 6-2)
