Men’s basketball will close out its six-game homestand in a exhibition game against Saint Joseph’s College at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Convocation Center.

The Huskies (1-3) are coming off their first NIU Inivitational in which they went 1-2, earning their first win of 2013 over San Jose State.

In each game this season, the Huskies have had someone different step up. The Huskies have three players who average more than nine points per game. Sophomore wing Darrell Bowie scores 9.5 points per game, redshirt junior center Jordan Threloff averages 9.3 points per game and sophomore guard Daveon Balls adds nine points per game.

As for the Pumas (1-2), they are a Div. II team out of the Great Lakes Valley Conference. In the Pumas’ three games this season they are averaging 108 points per game.

Saint Joseph’s is coming off a 97-89 loss to Lake Superior State and will face off against Walsh University on Saturday.

The Pumas are led offensively by junior guard Cameron Vines and redshirt senior guard/forward Jon Smith. Vines averages 28.7 points per game while Smith scores 22.7 points per game.

The Huskies’ defense will have to be up to the challenge to slow down the Pumas’ high-scoring offense.
