City blotter for 4/23/12

The following was taken directly from area police and fire department records, or from DeKalb County court records. Anyone mentioned is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Saturday

At 9:59 a.m., a DeKalb police officer observed the driver of a green vehicle was not wearing a seat belt. The officer initiated a traffic stop in the 1100 block of Loren Dr. The office found the driver, Julius L. Williams, 30, of DeKalb, had a suspended driver’s license. Williams was arrested, taken to the DeKalb Police Department and later released on bond.

Sunday

At 1:14 a.m., DeKalb police responded to the 300 block of College Ave. for a domestic dispute, later classified as a domestic battery. Upon arrival, police located the victim, who had visible scratches on his neck. The suspect, Amanda A. Abraham, 26, of Chicago, was found in an adjacent bathroom. Upon further investigation, police learned Abraham scratched the victim’s neck during an argument. Abraham was arrested for domestic battery.
