City blotter for 4/18/12

The following was taken directly from area police and fire department records, or from DeKalb County court records. Anyone mentioned is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Sunday

At 5:03 a.m., the DeKalb County Sheriff’s office stopped a vehicle travelling on Annie Glidden Road, south of Lucinda, for improper lane usage. The officers administered field sobriety tests, which Catrina Jones, 20, of DeKalb, failed. Jones was arrested for DUI over .08, and was brought to the DeKalb County Jail pending bond.

Monday

At 8:48 a.m., a DeKalb police officer on patrol in the 300 block of North Annie Glidden Road observed a black vehicle make an illegal left turn onto Stadium Drive. The officer initiated a traffic stop and found the driver, Mario S. Berry, 22, of Blue Island, had an expired driver’s license since Dec. 15, 2010. Berry was arrested, taken to the DeKalb Police Department and later released on bond.

At 8:51 p.m., DeKalb police were dispatched to the 300 block of Barberry Court for a person who would not leave a residence. The suspect, Claude Daniel Day Jr., 32, of DeKalb, was located and arrested for driving under the influence, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and resisting a peace officer.
