DeKalb crime blotter for April 25

The following was taken directly from area police and fire department records, or from DeKalb County court records. Anyone mentioned is presumed innocent until proved guilty in a court of law.

  • At 12:17 a.m. Friday, DeKalb Police observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed in the 1300 block of West Hillcrest Drive. Police performed a traffic stop and found the driver, Joshua L. Branson, 20, of Rockford, to be driving on a suspended license. Branson was taken to the DeKalb Police Station where he was unable to produce bond. He was later taken to DeKalb County Jail.
  • At 10:19 p.m. Friday, DeKalb Police observed a vehicle waiting to turn the wrong way down a one-way street in the 100 block of Park Avenue. Police performed a traffic stop and found the driver, Tremaine S. Bower, 26, of DeKalb, to be driving on a suspended license. He was taken to the DeKalb Police Station where he was released on bond.
  • At 10:47 a.m. Saturday, DeKalb Police observed a vehicle with suspended registration in the 800 block of North Annie Glidden Road. Police performed a traffic stop and observed a 2-year-old in the back seat without a seat belt. Sage Scott, 20, of Chicago, was found to be driving on a suspended license. Scott was taken to the DeKalb Police Station and later released on bond.
  • At 2:12 p.m. Saturday, DeKalb Police observed a vehicle driven by Jessica Wascher, 24, of DeKalb in the 300 block of Sycamore Road. The officer knew Wascher to have a suspended driver’s license. Wascher was taken to the DeKalb Police Station for booking.
  • At 9:32 p.m. Saturday, DeKalb Police heard loud bass emanating from a vehicle in the 400 block of Franklin Street. Police learned the vehicle had expired license plates and performed a traffic stop, during which the officer observed that the vehicle’s brake lights were not working. Justin M. Dueringer, 23, of Waterman, was found to be driving on a suspended license. He was taken to the DeKalb Police Station and was later released on bond.
