City blotter for 10/4/10

The following was taken directly from area police and fire department records, or from the DeKalb County court records. Anyone mentioned is presumed innocent until proved guilty in a court of law.

  • At 11:27 p.m. Thursday, DeKalb Police noticed a vehicle in the 1000 block of West Lincoln Highway with an expired registration. After further checking, police found the person’s license is suspended. Javarus Jacobs, 22 of DeKalb, was arrested for driving with a suspended license, no insurance and an expired vehicle registration. Jacobs was sent to DeKalb Police Department and later released on bond.
  • At 2:41 a.m. Friday, DeKalb Police noticed a car driving in the 1200 block of West Hillcrest Drive with no headlights on. While speaking with the person, police smelled alcohol. The person failed a field sobriety test and was arrested. Billie J. Tester, 21 of Willow Springs, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence over .08 and operating a vehicle with no headlights. Tester was sent to DeKalb Police Department and later released on bond.
  • At 2:16 a.m. Saturday, DeKalb Police observed a vehicle in the 100 block of West Lincoln Highway make an improper turn. Police spoke with the person and noticed an open bottle of beer. While searching the vehicle, police found cannabis and ecstasy. Nikalus D. Geiger, 21 of Aurora, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of cannabis, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving under the influence of alcohol. Geiger was sent to the DeKalb Police Department.
  • At 2:17 p.m. Saturday, DeKalb Police observed a vehicle in the 100 block of South Fourth Street pulling a flatbed trailer without a registration plate. After doing a check on the vehicle, police learned the person had a suspended license and two warrants. Richard P. Rodkey, 41 of Lemont, was arrested for driving with a suspended license and two failure to appear warrants. Rodkey was transported to the DeKalb Police Department and later released on bond.
