City Blotter – 9/27/10

The following was taken directly from area police and fire department records, or from the DeKalb County court records. Anyone mentioned is presumed innocent until proved guilty in a court of law.

At 11:30 a.m. Thursday, DeKalb Police saw a truck in the 200 block of East Fairview Drive with a 16,000 pound registration plate in a five ton allowed area. After further checking, police found the driver’s license was suspended. Jorge Melendres, 63 of Chicago, was arrested for driving with a suspended license and disobeying a traffic control device. Melendres was transported to the police station and later released on bond.

At 11:57 a.m. Thursday, DeKalb Police ran a check on a vehicle in the 100 block of West Lincoln Highway and found the driver had a parole warrant. Drug paraphernalia was also discovered in the vehicle. Joel T. Stilson, 27 of DeKalb, was arrested and charged with parole violation and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. He was sent to DeKalb County Jail.

At 8:29 p.m. Friday, DeKalb Police ran a check on a vehicle in the 400 block of West Knolls Avenue and found the licensed driver was suspended with three active warrants. Jordan J. Foster, 25 of DeKalb, was arrested for driving with a suspended license, uninsured motor vehicle and three failure to appear warrants. Foster was transported to the police station and later released on bond.

At 10:32 a.m. Friday, DeKalb Police observed a vehicle in 1000 block of South Fourth Street make an improper turn to the outside lane. Police discovered through a check  that the driver’s license had been suspended. Guillermo M. Esparza, 43 of DeKalb, was arrested for driving with a suspended license. Esparza was transported to the police station and later released on bond.

At 6:12 p.m. Saturday, DeKalb Police observed a person in the parking lot of Wal-Mart, 2300 Sycamore Road, who was believed to be wanted. The officer ran a check and found they had a warrant for their arrest. Manuel Moctezuma, 32 of DeKalb, was arrested for a failure to appear warrant. He was transported to the police station and later released on bond.

At 11:15 p.m. Saturday, DeKalb Police observed a vehicle in the 100 block of West Lincoln Highway bearing only one working taillight. After running a check on the vehicle Police found the driver had a suspended license. Andre D. Patterson, 26 of Chicago, was arrested for driving with a suspended license. Patterson was transported to the police station and later released on bond.

At 11:39 p.m. Saturday, while performing a traffic stop in the 100 block of Castle Drive, Poloce found cannabis and drug paraphernalia in the vehicle. Nicholas J. Anderson, 21 of Marengo, was arrested for a Class 4 felony for possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia
