A resident in rural Kingston set off the panic alarm of his home security system at 4:28 p.m. Friday after two unknown suspects forced entry into his house.

The victim said the trespassers allegedly rang the door bell and asked to see his son.

Eventually, the two men gained entry into the house, struck the victim in the head and cut his ear with a knife.

The assailants fled the scene in a small black and gray truck with a bed cap when the victim set off the alarm.

The alarm alerted the DeKalb County Sheriff’s office, who responded immediately.

Police were unable to locate the truck or the suspects.
