County COVID-19 cases rise to 928

DeKALB — The DeKalb County Health Department announced Friday the number of positive COVID-19 cases increased to 928.

Among those who’ve tested positive for the coronavirus, 100 are younger than 19, 236 are in their 20s, 155 are in their 30s, 129 are in their 40s, 119 are in their 50s, 69 are in their 60s, 56 are in their 70s, and 64 are 80 or older.

As of Friday, 30 people have died from the coronavirus in the county, according to the DCHD.

At Pine Acres Rehab and Living Center, 1212 S. Second St., 26 staff members and 55 residents have tested positive; as of Friday, 12 Pine Acres residents have died from COVID-19.

At Willow Crest Nursing Pavilion, 515 North Main St., 21 staff members and 36 residents tested positive for COVID-19. As of Friday, 10 Willow Crest residents have died from COVID-19.

Statewide, there are 190,508 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 7,613 recorded deaths as of 3:33 p.m. Friday, according to the Illinois Department of Public Health.
