DeKalb County COVID-19 cases rise to 1136

DeKALB — The DeKalb County Health Department announced Friday the number of positive COVID-19 cases increased to 1,136.

Among those who’ve tested positive for the coronavirus, 147 are younger than 19, 302 are in their 20s, 181 are in their 30s, 148 are in their 40s, 142 are in their 50s, 85 are in their 60s, 61 are in their 70s and 70 are 80 or older. 

As of Friday, 35 people have died from the coronavirus in the county, according to the DCHD

At Willow Crest Nursing Pavilion, 515 N. Main St., 21 staff members and 36 residents tested positive for COVID-19. As of Friday, 12 Willow Crest residents have died from COVID-19. 

Statewide, there are 233,355 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 8,019 recorded deaths as of 12:40 p.m. Sunday, according to the Illinois Department of Public Health.
