By Brayton Cameron | January 20, 2005

By Greg Feltes | December 3, 2004

Movies at a glance

By Derek Wright | December 2, 2004

Opening Friday

•"Big Fat Liar" (Universal) - In this comedy, a teen-age student (Frankie Muniz) tries to prove that a sleazy Hollywood producer (Paul Giamatti) stole his class paper and turned it into a blockbuster flick. The student travels with his best friend (Amanda Bynes) to Los Angeles to try to break into show business - literally. Starring Muniz, Giamatti, Bynes, Amanda Detmer and Donald Faison. Directed by Shawn Levy. Rated PG.

•"Collateral Damage" (Warner Bros.) - Arnold Schwarzenegger stars as firefighter Gordon Brewer, who is looking for revenge in this sci-fi thriller. After his wife and child are killed by a terrorist bombing, Brewer takes matters into his own hands and travels to Columbia to track down the man responsible. Starring Schwarzenegger, Cliff Curtis, John Leguizamo, John Turturro, Francesca Neri and Elias Koteas. Directed by Andrew Davis. Rated R.

•"Rollerball" (MGM) - In this sci-fi adventure, a deadly sport that combines roller derby and basketball thrives in the year 2005 and packs arenas around the world. A global viewership bets and roots for the star players who skate and motorcycle past opponents to score. Despite the danger, the real threat lies in the team owner who sacrifices anything and anyone to maximize ratings, which are worth more to him than the final score. Starring Chris Klein, LL Cool J, Rebecca Romijn-Stamos, Naveen Andrews and Jean Reno. Directed by John McTiernan. Rated PG-13.

Gwen Stefani: Love, Angel, Music, Baby (2-1/2 Stars)

By Jessica King | December 2, 2004
