NIU key player: Chandler Harnish

By Eli Gehn | November 15, 2011

How many yards will Chandler Harnish put up this week?

Harnish continues to shred opposing defenses with his dual-threat capabilities, and it seems no one has an answer to stop him.

Harnish continues to put records on the board for NIU quarterback play, and if he throws one more touchdown pass tonight, he will hold the record for most passing touchdowns in Huskies history, surpassing George Bork.

The Bluffington, Ind. native has continued to put up big numbers on the ground, rushing for 1,022 yards, which ranks third in the MAC.

"With Chandler doing good, I'm really proud of him," said NIU running back Jasmin Hopkins. "I hope he keeps doing what he's been doing; he's a playmaker."

NIU's offense will continue to be successful if Harnish is able to keep opposing defenses on their heels.

Ball State is ranked last in total defense in the MAC, giving up over 490 yards per game.

And with Harnish playing as well as he has, it makes everyone else on the offensive side better, making the Huskies offense tough to contain.
