Men’s golf headed to Iowa

Men’s golf will head west to compete in the Hawkeye-Great River Entertainment Invitational this weekend.

The 54-hole invitational will open with 36 holes on Saturday and conclude with 18 holes on Sunday at Finkbine Golf Course in Iowa City, Iowa.

Iowa is coming off a strong performance at the Thunderbird Invitational, where it placed second with a card of 837.

The Huskies have a quick turnaround after just getting back from playing in the Redhawk Invitational earlier this week. Their biggest concern will be to improve on putting as their poor performance in that area hurt the most.

Despite coming in 17th as a team, the Huskies did see some promising rounds in the final round at Chambers Bay. Freshman Raphael Denais posted his best individual round as a Huskie with a two over par 73, while freshman Caulen Coe posted a four over 75.
