With improving scores, Huskies travel to Marshall Invitational Friday

Just like Tiger, the NIU men’s golf team was up for a comeback.

The Huskies went into the final round in last place but climbed back up with a team score of 4-over par 288 which was the fifth-best team score of the day at the par 71 Gleneagles Country Club.

In their first team competition of the spring, NIU finished 13th out of 14 with a team total three-round score of 48-over par 900 in the FAU Spring Break Championships in Delray Beach, Fla.

Sophomore Jeff Dick was the best Huskie of the weekend, finishing in 13th after entering the final day tied for 44th. His final score of 3-over par 216 included a career-low 66 in the third round.

Juniors Tim Kay and Matt Triplett ended the weekend tied for 45th with an 11-over par 224.

Senior Alex Wagner finished tied for 80th at 29-over par 242 and junior Andrew Frame ended in 82nd at 30-over par 230.

The Huskies will travel to Huntington, W.Va. this Friday to take part in the Marshall Invitational.
