The Netflix home page shows a list of trending shows on a laptop screen.

Take some time this weekend to relax and catch up on some shows or movies. Here are ideas if you’re stumped on what to watch.

Vampire in the Garden (Netflix)

“Vampire in the Garden” takes place in a world where humans and vampires are at war with each other. During the chaos, the vampire queen, Fine, voiced by Kobayashi and the human girl, Momo, voiced by Megumi Han, befriend each other over a dream to find “paradise,” a place where vampires and humans are living together in harmony.

The series is a 2022 Japanese anime series produced by Wit Studio. Ryōtarō Makihara and Hiroyuki Tanaka co-directed, while Tetsuya Nishio designed the characters. Shunichiro Yoshihara is the art director and Yoshihiro Ike is the series composer. – Laqes Davis, Lifestyle Reporter

The Morning Show (Apple TV+)

“The Morning Show” premiered in 2019 with a stellar cast of Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon, Steve Carell and Billy Crudup. The show is inspired by the novel “Top of the Morning: Inside the Cutthroat World of Morning TV,” by Brian Stelter.

The series shows the behind-the-scenes of a New York City TV news station trying to pick up the pieces after news anchor Mitch Kessler, played by Carell, is accused of sexual misconduct in the workplace. It is a show that shines a light on the #MeToo movement, the lengths people will go to protect those involved and how it can all come crashing down, especially in the public eye. – Daija Hammonds, Lifestyle Editor

Look Both Ways (Netflix)

This Netflix original was released on Aug.17 and quickly rose to the number one movie on the streaming platform. “Look Both Ways” stars Lili Reinhart, Danny Ramirez, Luke Wilson and Nia Long.

The romantic comedy follows Natalie through two completely different life paths: one where she becomes pregnant and stays in her hometown to care for the child, and another reality where she balances her dream career and dating life in Los Angeles.

It will be nice to see Reinhart acting outside of the CW show “Riverdale” and “Top Gun” star, Ramirez, take on a rom-com. – Daija Hammonds, Lifestyle Editor
